[Criminal]
A case in which an employee of a company was suspected of endangering national key protected plants. A defence of innocence was conducted on the ground that the client lacked the possibility of awareness of unlawfulness, and the procuratorate ultimately decided not to prosecute on the ground that no crime was constituted.
A case in which a company was suspected of producing and selling counterfeit drugs. A defence of innocence was conducted on the grounds that the drugs concerned were not counterfeit drugs within the meaning of criminal law and that there was no criminal intent, and the public security organ ultimately withdrew the case.
A case in which the owner of a maternal and infant products store was suspected of smuggling ordinary goods. The procuratorate decided not to prosecute, and the case won the 2023 Business Achievement Award of the Guangzhou Lawyers Association.
A rape case in which the defendant was defended on the ground that he did not know the victim was under fourteen years of age; the court ultimately sentenced the defendant to three years' imprisonment with a five-year suspension.
A bribery case involving a member of the standing committee of a municipal party committee and secretary of the political and legal affairs committee (with an amount involved of more than RMB 20 million). By establishing the circumstances of voluntary surrender and meritorious service and communicating on the return of illicit gains, a sentence of less than ten years' imprisonment was successfully secured.
