From 2009 to 2010, Leslie was selected by the Ministry of Justice and the National Lawyers' Association to participate in the prestigious Lord Chancellor’s Training Scheme with ten other outstanding lawyers. During his time in London, Leslie worked at a world-renowned law firm and a leading Barristers' Chambers and studied English law at the University of London.
After returning to China in 2010, Leslie joined the Shanghai representative office of a leading international law firm. In the seven years with the firm, he has handled a good number of complex multi-jurisdictional cases, covering areas of foreign investment, banking, corporate compliance, finance lease, and restructuring of large enterprises etc, many of which have significant impact in both China and abroad. He counts amongst his clients’ internet finance companies, trading companies, insurance and reinsurance companies, energy companies, commodities companies, shipping and logistics companies, etc.
In recent years, Leslie has handled various shipping insurance cases involving jurisdictions of China, US, Britain, Bermuda, etc. Some case valued billions of US dollars. With his solid practice knowledge, quick response and excellent communication and coordination skills, Leslie is well-reputed for promptly connecting lawyers from different jurisdictions and integrating and providing efficient legal services for clients.
Leslie also has extensive experience in foreign investment and foreign legal services, which involve negotiation of foreign investment projects, establishment of foreign-invested enterprises, as well as drafting and reviewing foreign business contracts, etc. Leslie has solved several new and tough disputes in financing and banking business areas, such as supply chain finance and investment funds.
